International Education
Learning abroad has become a major part of my life, both while at home and overseas.
I participated in a summer study program in Quito, Ecuador, a semester in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and a spring seminar course in Havana, Cuba while enrolled at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, all of which were incredibly life-shaping experiences.
While stateside, I furthered my career goals in international education by interning with the University of Minnesota Learning Abroad Center in a public speaking role. After that, I worked part-time as a marketing and program advisement Intern at World Endeavors, a small private international study, intern, and volunteer abroad organization in the Twin Cities.
Concurrently, I worked with a small student travel startup at the University of Minnesota called Travel Young Outdoor Adventures. Here I worked closely with the CEO to develop marketing strategies, hire campus reps, and plan the company's first international backpacking trips to South America and the British Isles. I acted as the lead guide and translator for the South America trip, which took me through Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia once again with a fantastic group of participants.

Teaching
In the fall of 2016, I recieved my certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Teaching Nomad and began my career as an ESL teacher in China. I currently work at Giraffe English Traning Center, an English school for young learners (ages 3-12) headquartered in Taiwan but with several branches in Shanghai and around Mainland China.
In addition to teaching an average of 14 classes per week to a variety of students, I work closely with the International Recruitment Department as an International Strategy Specialist, tasked with developing marketing campaigns and strategies to recruit talented ESL teachers from English-speaking countries around the world.

Writing
Since the creation of Molly on the Road in 2014, I have worked to build this website from scratch, refine my writing capabilities, and create a network of other travel writers and bloggers around the world. It has followed me around South America, the US, and now Asia, and it will continue to be a part of whatever I do in the future.
While not a primary source of income itself, this blog has led me to many freelance writing and media opportunities for brands and companies such as World Endeavors and Travel Young Outdoor Adventures, and my work has been represented in online publications from College Tourist to the Huffington Post.
I am not currently seeking any additional work, but I am always open to new ideas. For details on my freelance availablilty as well as sponsorship and advertising rates for Molly on the Road, please fill out my contact form. For more examples of my work, check out my online portfolio.
Other Opportunities
I'm always up for an adventure, and my drive to travel and save as much money as possible to do so has led me to some interesting employment opportunities over the years. I've worked at a summer camp, as a tour guide, a portable photobooth attendent, a shoe salesgirl, and a franchisee to a major fireworks conglomerate selling fireworks out of a party tent, to name a few.
I would love to add to my unofficial resume of interesting jobs. If you are looking for someone to pick fruit, work at a hostel, walk your exotic pets, or sell strange niche products, I'm your girl. Please fill out my contact form!
